Military ministry creed

Military Ministry of Bible Baptist Church

in the town of Lawton, Oklahoma,

United States of America

We are Christians in the United States Armed Forces.  As such, we “are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us.” (Romans 12:5-6)  We realize that we must uphold the highest standards as sons of God and military members to “shine as lights in the world.” (Philippians 2:15)  Our professional and personal demeanor shall show our honor in serving our God and country.  We here by commit ourselves to the following articles:

Article I

We believe that the Bible is the Holy Word of God and as such is the final authority of Christian fellowship and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried.

Article II

We submit ourselves to the authority of God and the authorities he has placed over us.  “For there is no power but of God” the powers that be are ordained of God.” (Romans 13:1)

Article III

We vow to “abstain from all appearance of evil” to be an example to our fellow military men and women.               (1 Thessalonians 5:22)  We will live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon our Savior and Lord; and that separation from all worldly and sinful pleasures and practices and associations is commanded of God.

Article IV

We except that it is our obligation to witness by life and word and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all military personnel. (Matthew 28:19)

Article V

We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, but will exhort one another.  We commit ourselves to be faithful in attendance to the local new testament church no matter were our country may send us.

In Witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names.
